Nancy MacDonald, PSWC-DP

Nancy MacDonald

After graduating with an Art degree from the UK, I moved to the US where I have lived and painted for the last twenty years.

Signifiant influences on my development include studying under two amazing artists: Bob Gerbracht and Jove Wang, as well as traveling to Russia to see the great Russian paintings.

I am drawn to strong colour and and the intense feelings it can evoke. I like to exaggerate colour and push it as far as I can whilst staying within the realms of possibility. For that reason, I love to use the contrasting mediums of oil and pastel.

I  continue to paint from models  as well as  pleinair landscapes, simply because for me live subjects generate a strong response.
